Job Description
The Kitchen Steward provides essential support to the culinary team by managing the cleanliness of kitchenware and the workspace. This role focuses on dishwashing, sanitizing equipment, and assisting cooks with basic preparation tasks. By maintaining an organized and tidy work area, the steward ensures that the kitchen runs smoothly and meets the required sanitation standards for safe food production.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation and organization as required
- Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area and the overall kitchen floor
- Ensure that all cleaned items are stored correctly in their designated areas
- Assist in the receiving and stocking of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- Adhere to food safety and personal hygiene standards at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen support or stewarding role is preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Friendly, professional attitude with a willingness to assist others
- Strong physical stamina for standing and performing repetitive tasks
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation protocols
- Punctual and reliable work habits
