Job Description

This role blends editorial leadership with hands-on content creation, supporting how research is communicated to global audiences. The Writer/Editor works closely with researchers, communications teams, and designers to ensure content is not only accurate but also engaging and accessible. The position balances editing, writing, and strategic content planning to strengthen WRI’s voice across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review content pitches and provide editorial direction to teams
  • Edit articles, technical pieces, and project updates for clarity and impact
  • Collaborate with multimedia teams to produce supporting visual content
  • Conduct photo research and draft captions for publications
  • Manage editorial workflows from concept to publication
  • Draft articles, scripts, and communication materials
  • Ghostwrite content for senior leadership and researchers
  • Track analytics and apply SEO best practices to improve reach

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in professional writing and editing
  • Journalism experience is an added advantage
  • Strong storytelling and editorial coaching skills
  • Familiarity with SEO and digital publishing practices
  • Interest in environmental and sustainability topics
