Job Description

The Communications Officer will support strategic communications and rapid response efforts across African markets, focusing on managing reputational risks and delivering timely, accurate messaging. The role works closely with internal teams and external partners to coordinate communication strategies during emerging issues and crises.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement rapid response communication strategies
• Monitor media, social, and political developments across African markets
• Identify and mitigate reputational risks
• Draft statements, talking points, and communication materials
• Coordinate messaging across regional and global teams
• Manage communication during crises and breaking news
• Support crisis preparedness and response planning
• Collaborate with partners to ensure consistent messaging

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
• 8–10 years of experience in strategic communications or public affairs
• Experience in crisis communication and media engagement
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Understanding of African media and political landscape
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
