Overview

Mercy Corps is seeking a creative Communications Videography Intern to support the Innovation Pillar of the AgriFin Program. This role is central to documenting the impact of initiatives like Digital Farmer 2 and Weather and Climate Services (WCS). Working under the Communications Lead and alongside the MERL team, the intern will translate complex program activities into compelling visual stories that resonate across digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Produce short-form videos, graphics, and visual assets for LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Field Documentation: Capture high-quality video footage and photography during field visits, interviews, and program events.
  • Post-Production: Assist in editing video content, including color correction, audio editing, and formatting for various platforms.
  • Storytelling: Support the development of digital copy, captions, scripts, and storyboards for program content.
  • Archive Management: Organize and maintain a visual content library, ensuring all raw and edited footage is archived for easy retrieval.
  • Performance Tracking: Assist in monitoring social media metrics to optimize content performance.
  • Equipment Care: Support the setup and basic maintenance of videography equipment, including lighting and audio tools.

Qualifications

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Technical: Experience in designing and creating videos is a strong added advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking abilities and a collaborative team-player mindset.
  • Branding: Ability to align creative content with Mercy Corps’ strict branding and humanitarian messaging guidelines.
