Job Description

The Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished steel products. This role ensures the implementation of FIFO principles and real-time stock updates in SAP. The controller works closely with production planners to ensure material availability, monitors WIP movement across different stages of manufacturing, and investigates discrepancies. Safety compliance and orderly storage management are critical components of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
  • Perform frequent stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile variances.
  • Implement FIFO principles and ensure safe, efficient stacking and labeling.
  • Inspect materials for quality, damage, or deviations from specifications.
  • Issue materials to production based on scheduled rolling plans.
  • Update SAP with real-time stock movements and generate daily reports.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, losses, or damage and report to management.
  • Support loading/offloading activities and participate in housekeeping inspections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Supply Chain, Storekeeping, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of work experience, with 3 years specifically in FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in SAP is essential.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes) is an added advantage.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
