Role Overview
Reporting to the Laboratory In-Charge, the Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting scientific medical investigations to support accurate laboratory diagnosis. The role ensures proper sample handling, quality control compliance, and timely communication of results to internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Register, collect, and process client samples within defined test limits
- Communicate laboratory results to internal and external customers
- Maintain quality laboratory standards through proper reagent use, calibrated equipment, and clean workspaces
- Ensure efficient utilization of reagents, glassware, and laboratory equipment
- Prepare accurate laboratory reports
- Participate in internal quality control (QC) programs and maintain appropriate logs and registers
Qualifications
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science
- Registration certificate from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board
- At least two (2) years’ experience in medical laboratory practice
- ICT competency
- Strong customer service skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team
- Professional and approachable demeanor
