Country Laboratory and Diagnostics Specialist
Job Description
This role provides technical leadership in strengthening laboratory systems and diagnostic services within public health programs. The Specialist works closely with stakeholders to improve diagnostic capacity and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight for laboratory and diagnostic services
- Support development of workplans and implementation strategies
- Strengthen diagnostic networks and quality assurance systems
- Conduct capacity assessments and provide recommendations
- Support adoption of new diagnostic tools and technologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders across sectors
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Monitor project performance and identify improvements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or related field
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in laboratory systems or diagnostics
- Strong knowledge of infectious disease diagnostics
- Experience with laboratory information systems and QA processes
- Strong analytical and communication skills
