Job Description

The Lab Technician role at Q-Sourcing Servtec Group is a critical support position for large-scale engineering and architectural projects. This role focuses on the site-based verification and laboratory testing of construction materials for both road infrastructure and building developments. By ensuring that all materials meet stringent quality control standards, the Lab Technician provides the technical assurance necessary for the safety and durability of civil works. The role involves working closely with engineers and architects to validate material specifications throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory and site-based testing on construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to engineering and architectural specifications.
• Document and report test results accurately, highlighting any deviations from standard requirements.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure precision in all testing procedures.
• Assist engineering teams with site-based verification for road infrastructure and building projects.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling materials and operating laboratory machinery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a construction materials testing laboratory.
• Technical knowledge of road construction materials and testing standards (e.g., BS, ASTM, or Kenya Standards).
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
• Strong attention to detail and physical stamina for site-based work.
• Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems.
