ESG Lead
Job Description
The ESG Lead is responsible for coordinating and delivering ESG and EUDR-related activities under the SAVI programme at Kenya Association of Manufacturers. The role combines project management with technical implementation, supporting manufacturing companies to assess, report, and improve ESG performance. The position focuses on service design, capacity building, compliance readiness, and facilitation of sustainability initiatives across manufacturing value chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, localisation, and integration of ESG and EUDR compliance services within KAM’s consulting portfolio
- Coordinate sector prioritisation, company scoping, and ESG/EUDR readiness and gap assessments
- Oversee development and quality assurance of ESG and EUDR compliance roadmaps aligned with international standards
- Build internal ESG and EUDR delivery capacity through structured training and technical support
- Recruit, onboard, and manage pilot cohorts for ESG reporting and EUDR compliance services
- Conduct baseline assessments, risk diagnostics, and compliance reviews with partner consultants
- Design and facilitate group trainings, workshops, and awareness sessions
- Coordinate one-on-one technical assistance, site visits, validations, and value-chain mapping
- Facilitate supplier engagement and multi-stakeholder dialogue to support traceability and due diligence
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in environmental management, engineering, business sustainability, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in ESG, climate change, or project management is an advantage
- Five to seven years of experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental management, or climate-related projects
- Demonstrated experience supporting companies with carbon accounting and ESG or EUDR strategies
- Proven ability to develop or review ESG reports and sustainability indicators
- Practical knowledge of ESG disclosure standards such as GRI or SASB
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and technical advisory skills
