Paralegal
Overview
The NBA is seeking a professional Paralegal to join its Nairobi-based team, providing critical legal and compliance support for NBA Africa and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). This role is centered on commercial law, supporting business teams in fan engagement, media deals, sponsorships, and merchandising. You will be part of a collaborative legal network spanning various African offices, ensuring high standards of due diligence and contract accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and actionable paralegal and business affairs support for regional lawyers and business teams.
- Draft and review contracts for NBA and BAL businesses, focusing on fan events, grassroots programs, and revenue deals.
- Coordinate and implement the due diligence process for prospective business partners and service providers.
- Attend to general corporate and administrative legal matters.
- Conduct legal research and support specialized projects as directed by commercial lawyers.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a professional paralegal at a top-tier multinational law firm or company.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Copilot) and document management software.
- Legal Mastery: Experience with contract drafting, compliance/due diligence, and contract management processes.
- Competencies: Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
