Overview

As the Senior Carbon Technical Manager at BURN, you will own the health of a complex carbon project portfolio focusing on Article 6.2 (Paris Agreement) and electric/metered cookstoves. This role involves ensuring that issuance volumes are delivered on time while adhering to global integrity benchmarks and Gold Standard requirements. You will serve as the primary technical liaison for bilateral carbon programs and lead the design of IoT-based Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems, playing a pivotal role in the global carbon finance landscape.

Responsibilities

• Oversee BURN’s Article 6.2 bilateral carbon programs, focusing on ITMO authorization and issuance.
• Act as the primary liaison with Swiss FOEN, the Ghana Carbon Market Office, and Gold Standard.
• Own the technical application of EIC-specific methodologies and metered/IoT MRV guidance.
• Lead the design and quality control of IoT-based data validation pipelines (Nexus platform).
• Oversee quarterly sampling plans and ex-post monitoring surveys (KPT cycles) for EIC projects.
• Manage VVB contract relationships and oversee the validation/verification packages for all projects.
• Document and track Corresponding Adjustments (CA) and host-country authorization requirements.
• Drive cross-functional coordination with Data & Analytics teams to ensure data transparency and audit trails.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in voluntary or compliance carbon markets.
• Demonstrated expertise in Article 6.2 frameworks and ITMO tracking processes.
• Strong knowledge of Gold Standard (GS4GG) requirements for metered or electric cookstoves.
• Proven track record of taking at least 3 certified projects from end-to-end within the last 36 months.
• Experience managing at least 2 full VVB audit cycles (validation/verification).
• Proficiency in statistical outlier analysis and CDM reliability assessments.
