Job Description

The Sales and Operations Manager for Partners is a high-impact leadership role focused on building and scaling MoPhones’ merchant partner ecosystem. This position is responsible for auditing existing relationships, designing scalable onboarding frameworks, and driving sales performance through indirect channels. Reporting to senior leadership, the manager will lead a team of Account Managers to expand the partner network across Nairobi and target regions. The role requires a data-savvy individual with an action bias to streamline device financing uptake and optimize the partner experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of partner relationships to identify top performers and at-risk accounts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all merchant partners, resolving issues and setting communication cadences
  • Design and roll out a scalable onboarding and training framework for sales staff at merchant locations
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performance team of Sales Account Managers
  • Drive aggressive expansion of active merchant partners in line with regional growth ambitions
  • Collaborate with Credit, Product, and CX teams to improve sales conversion and device financing workflows
  • Track and report on partner metrics, using data to drive strategic decision-making and operational improvements
  • Implement data-driven performance management to ensure high partner retention and quota attainment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in sales and account management
  • Specialized experience and an existing network within the mobile phone merchant industry in Kenya
  • Proven track record of driving revenue through indirect sales channels and closing complex deals
  • High proficiency in data analysis and reporting using Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple high-stakes initiatives
  • Educational background in Business, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Outcome-driven mindset with experience in early-stage or high-growth environments
