Job Description
St Andrew’s School, Turi, is seeking a Head of Boys’ Games to lead and inspire a culture of sporting excellence within the Senior School. This leadership role involves developing a high-quality sports program that integrates seamlessly with the school’s broader academic and Christian framework. The successful candidate will manage the sports department, represent the school at inter-school competitions, and ensure that the sporting provision meets the highest international standards while fostering inclusivity and personal integrity among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and develop a culture of excellence within the boys’ sporting program.
- Lead and manage the sports department staff and resources effectively.
- Oversee the delivery and reputation of sporting excellence at the Senior School level.
- Facilitate the integration of sports within the broader scope of school life and Christian ethos.
- Plan and coordinate inter-school fixtures, tournaments, and sports events.
- Represent the school at various levels, engaging with parents and the wider community.
- Manage and prioritize a diverse workload, ensuring all deadlines are met under pressure.
- Promote the highest standards of personal integrity and discipline through sport.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven passion for sport combined with a record of high personal achievement.
- Strong personal empathy with the school’s Christian ethos and full-boarding environment.
- Demonstrated experience in a sports leadership or management role within an educational setting.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; high literacy and IT proficiency.
- Ability to operate at a strategic level while maintaining an eye for technical detail.
- Discretion, tact, and the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment.
