Director, Research, Innovation and Extension Services

Job Description

This role leads the institution’s research and innovation agenda, ensuring alignment with industry needs and national priorities. It focuses on driving partnerships, advancing research outputs, and supporting commercialization and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of research strategies
• Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting activities
• Build partnerships with industry, academia, and development partners
• Manage research databases and innovation programs
• Support technology transfer and commercialization initiatives
• Oversee consultancy and extension service activities
• Identify funding opportunities and manage research grants
• Promote innovation culture within the institution

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in research or related fields
• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant disciplines
• Membership in a professional body where applicable
• Pedagogy qualification and TVETA registration
• Leadership training certification
• Strong research, leadership, and strategic planning skills
