Overview

The Group Head of Forensic Investigation provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of Equity’s fraud investigation function. This executive role is responsible for safeguarding organizational assets and reputation by detecting, investigating, and resolving financial crimes, misconduct, and regulatory breaches. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of experts, ensuring all investigations are ethically conducted while influencing fraud prevention practices at the highest institutional levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organization’s fraud and forensic investigation strategy.
• Oversee end-to-end investigations for complex fraud, financial crime, and employee misconduct.
• Lead and develop a high-performance forensic team, setting performance standards and KPIs.
• Analyze fraud trends and systemic risks to recommend robust preventive and corrective measures.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to integrate fraud mitigation efforts.
• Liaise with law enforcement, regulators, and prosecutors regarding high-profile cases.
• Present risk intelligence and investigative insights to senior leadership and board committees.
• Drive the adoption of advanced forensic technologies and analytics for enhanced detection.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8–10 years of professional forensic investigation experience.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
• Strong background in forensic accounting and investigative procedures.
• Experience working directly with regulators and law enforcement agencies.
• Education: Business-related degree from a recognized university.
• Added Advantage: Professional certification such as CFE, CPA, or Information Systems Audit.
