Chairperson, County Public Service Board
Overview
The Chairperson provides executive leadership to the County Public Service Board, overseeing the appointment, disciplinary control, and general welfare of all county employees. This is a high-level role requiring deep knowledge of national developmental goals like Kenya Vision 2030.
Responsibilities
- Appoint or confirm persons acting in Public County Offices.
- Exercise disciplinary control over and remove persons holding office when necessary.
- Facilitate integrated Human Resource planning and budgeting for the county.
- Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) on employee benefits.
- Advice the County Government on performance management systems and implementation.
- Prepare regular reports for the County Assembly on board functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s in HR or Public Admin is an advantage).
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Mandatory certificate in Senior Management Course (SMC).
- CHRP certification with a current practicing license is highly preferred.
