Job Description

The Specialist Data Engineer works embedded within agile squads to design, develop, and optimize data retrieval and processing systems. This role is responsible for translating data architecture blueprints into high-quality source code and algorithms that support the distribution of massive datasets across the bank. The specialist builds automated infrastructure and analytics tools, ensuring that all data solutions adhere to the principles of repeatability, scalability, and security. By mastering CI/CD pipelines and state-of-the-art database technologies, the engineer ensures that the organization’s data assets are secure, accessible, and ready for advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex data solutions, including architecture and pipelines, aligned with bank-wide standards
• Develop high-quality data processing algorithms in a test-driven and domain-driven environment
• Author and manage sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for multi-site deployments
• Build automated infrastructure to handle extremely high volumes of data delivery and storage
• Create specialized data tools to assist analytics and data science teams in optimizing datasets
• Implement group security standards to ensure the separation and protection of sensitive data
• Automate operational tasks through scripting technologies such as Ansible, Chef, or Python
• Monitor system performance and provide ongoing optimization for data retrieval processes
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the software development lifecycle

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering
• Mandatory proficiency in Hadoop; experience with Spark or AWS is a distinct advantage
• Demonstrated experience in Lake Formation and large-scale data warehousing
• Ability to adapt to and optimize in-house built ETL tools and frameworks
• Strong understanding of both relational and No-SQL database architectures
• Proven track record of delivering technical solutions within an Agile/Scrum framework
