Job Description

The WASH Program Manager is responsible for the technical oversight and managerial support of all water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in Kenya. Reporting to the Area Program Coordinator, this role leads the design and implementation of high-quality interventions, ensuring they are contextually relevant for conflict or post-conflict settings. The manager oversees technical designs, budgeting, and staff development while fostering collaboration with government and local partners to deliver sustainable WASH solutions that meet international humanitarian standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full project management cycle for all WASH projects, providing technical and managerial support
• Lead the design and planning of water supply systems and sanitation infrastructure
• Develop technical designs, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and quality assurance frameworks
• Manage the WASH team, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and capacity building
• Monitor budget implementation and ensure timely financial and programmatic reporting
• Represent IsraAID in WASH coordination meetings and technical working groups with external stakeholders
• Secure strategic funding opportunities by developing high-quality project proposals
• Ensure all interventions adhere to IsraAID’s programmatic protocols and global best practices

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, or Public Health; a Master’s is preferred
• Over 5 years of experience in program management, with 2 years at a senior level
• Proven experience in conflict or post-conflict settings
• Strong track record in proposal development, log-frame design, and budget management
• Expertise in stakeholder management and partnership building with government and INGOs
• Knowledge of international WASH protocols and humanitarian standards
