Job Description

The Lead DevOps Engineer for Foundry RnD is a high-level technical role responsible for driving the platform infrastructure that supports advanced MLOps and agentic AI systems. This position focuses on establishing reusable patterns for CI/CD, scalable inference, and sophisticated orchestration to empower research and development teams. As a lead engineer, you will own the infrastructure strategy, ensuring that the development environment is observable, scalable, and resilient enough to handle cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of platform infrastructure specifically for MLOps and agentic AI systems
  • Establish and enforce reusable patterns for CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment of complex AI models
  • Build and maintain scalable inference systems and orchestration frameworks to support high-performance workloads
  • Implement robust observability and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and performance tracking
  • Collaborate with RnD teams to optimize resource utilization and infrastructure automation
  • Manage cloud-native environments and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for AI research
  • Direct the evolution of infrastructure security and data protection protocols within the RnD environment
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers on emerging cloud technologies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering within a large-scale production environment
  • Significant experience with MLOps frameworks and deploying machine learning models at scale
  • Expert knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and sophisticated CI/CD toolsets
  • Proven track record of building observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and experience in research-driven or innovative tech environments
