Job Description
The Head Cook provides leadership in the kitchen, overseeing the preparation and delivery of all menu items at Glovinos Grill & Chill. This role requires an experienced chef with a specialization in grilling techniques and high-volume food production. The Head Cook is responsible for maintaining quality standards, managing the kitchen team, and ensuring that all meals are prepared safely and consistently to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and supervise the culinary team
- Prepare and cook menu items with a focus on high-quality grill techniques
- Manage kitchen inventory and coordinate the ordering of supplies and ingredients
- Ensure all food preparation meets strict health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Develop and refine recipes to maintain a consistent and appealing menu
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen protocols
- Monitor food costs and portion control to ensure departmental profitability
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Professional Chef or Head Cook, specifically with grill expertise
- Formal culinary training or a relevant diploma in Food Production is preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Creativity in menu development and presentation
