Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Retail, the Branch Manager is responsible for driving business growth and ensuring operational excellence within the branch. This role focuses on achieving lending and deposit targets, building strong customer relationships, and maintaining a high-quality loan book. The manager is also responsible for entrenching a risk-aware culture, overseeing staff development, and ensuring that the branch operates in full compliance with banking policies and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively market for new lending and deposit opportunities to achieve business targets.
- Lead performance management, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Identify, mitigate, and monitor branch-specific risks through self-assessment.
- Maintain loan book quality by ensuring prompt collection of arrears on normal and watch accounts.
- Monitor customer service standards and resolve complaints at the root cause.
- Develop and implement micro-market sales plans tailored to local segments.
- Oversee the branch budget and monitor competitor activities and service levels.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, control guidelines, and banking procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- University Degree (Minimum Upper Second-Class Honors).
- Professional qualification in banking (AKIB/ACIB).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development within the banking sector.
- Deep knowledge of Retail Banking value propositions and area sales strategies.
- Strong negotiation, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
