Job Description

The Accountant oversees the integrity of the organization’s financial processes by supervising daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, authorizing payments, and maintaining strict internal controls. The successful candidate serves as a key support to management, providing reliable financial data for strategic decision-making while ensuring full compliance with statutory and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting functions including petty cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Authorize payment vouchers and verify the completeness of all supporting financial documentation
• Perform comprehensive weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor the daily cash position
• Manage the invoicing process and follow up on outstanding customer and supplier balances
• Prepare monthly expense schedules, management reports, and financial summaries
• Ensure 100% compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT and other relevant tax filings
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely financial reporting
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior finance staff members
• Liaise with external auditors and consultants during financial reviews and audits

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory or senior capacity
• Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and professional accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• CPA (K) or an equivalent professional qualification is a distinct advantage
