Role Overview

The Systems Engineer Networks Security (L2) will support installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems, working closely with clients and senior engineers to ensure reliable and secure IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage installations and resolve break/fix incidents of low to medium complexity.

  • Provide troubleshooting support and escalate complex issues where necessary.

  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures for installations and fixes.

  • Maintain project administration records, including time capture and stakeholder reporting.

  • Conduct basic client presentations within the customer’s organization.

  • Collaborate with senior technical staff and follow industry best practices.

  • Perform other related security engineering tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Attributes

  • Strong learning orientation and proactive approach.

  • Excellent verbal communication and client service orientation.

  • Knowledge of security concepts and tools, including Firewalls, NAC, SIEM, MFA, SSE, IDS/IPS, EDR, UTM, Proxy, SOAR, and honeypots.

  • Understanding of security architecture and log collection (Syslog, APIs, databases).

  • Problem-solving skills with innovative, standards-based solutions.

  • Developing knowledge of data/system security, authentication, and authorization controls.

  • Familiarity with event-driven development and asynchronous operations.

  • Understanding of managed services and project execution fundamentals.

Academic Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computing, or related field.

  • Mandatory vendor certification (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, or Fortinet Professional Level).

  • Additional certifications are an advantage, including:

    • Cloud Security (e.g., AZ-500, SC-200)

    • Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM

    • Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CCDP, JNCIA, PCNSE, PCNSA, CCSA, FCP)

    • ITIL, Azure Security Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator Associate.
