Senior Registrar (Pediatric Cardiology)

Overview

The Mater Misericordiae Hospital is recruiting a Senior Registrar with a specialized focus on Pediatric Cardiology. This position involves managing pediatric cardiac patients under the guidance of Consultant Pediatric Cardiologists. The role is vital for providing specialized care, conducting research, and mentoring medical interns. You will be expected to participate in all aspects of patient care, from clinical rotations and theater days to referring complex cases for advanced diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Patient Management: Review pediatric cardiology cases, clerk patients, and ensure all medical orders are executed accurately.
• Clinical Rotations: Undertake on-call duties, conduct regular ward rounds, and attend specialized clinics and theater days as scheduled.
• Academic Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise Medical Officer Interns and Medical Officers.
• Research & Development: Conduct medical research and participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities.
• Medical Reporting: Perform thorough medical examinations and prepare detailed medical reports for legal and clinical use.
• Specialist Liaison: Refer patients to other medical specialists for further diagnosis of unclear or complex disorders.

Qualifications

• Academic: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and a Master of Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health.
• Specialization: Demonstrated interest or progress in pursuing Pediatric Cardiology as a sub-specialty.
• Professional: Registration with the KMPDC and a valid practicing license.
• Compliance: Must have a valid Professional Indemnity Cover.
• Technical: Proficiency in medical computer applications.
