Job Description

The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly qualified ENT Surgeon to join its full-time faculty. This multifaceted role involves providing exemplary clinical and surgical services in Otolaryngology while contributing significantly to the hospital’s academic and research missions. The successful candidate will coordinate high-quality educational programs for residents and medical students, engage in scholarly research, and maintain the highest standards of patient care within an integrated academic medical center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized clinical and surgical care for patients with ear, nose, and throat disorders
• Coordinate and monitor the ENT residency training program and undergraduate medical education
• Contribute to medical scholarship through active participation in clinical research and peer-reviewed publications
• Lead multi-disciplinary clinical teams to ensure holistic patient management and safety
• Participate in departmental administrative duties and institutional quality improvement initiatives
• Mentor medical students and residents in clinical practice and surgical techniques
• Engage in community outreach and professional development programs to advance the field of Otolaryngology

Qualifications & Experience

• Master of Medicine (MMed) in Surgery or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Otolaryngology
• Fellowship or sub-specialization in a specific area of ENT surgery is an added advantage
• Valid specialist recognition and licensing from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
• Proven experience in clinical teaching and academic supervision within a university hospital setting
• Demonstrated record of research activity and scholarly publications
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both patient care and academic collaboration
• Strong commitment to evidence-based medical practice and continuous learning
