World Vision Kenya is seeking a Risk and Investigations Specialist (Re-advertised) to lead risk management and investigations from Nairobi. This critical NGO governance job in Kenya requires Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, investigations, audit, and forensics, with at least 3 years specifically in risk management. Role Overview
The Risk & Investigations Specialist manages two high-risk functions: ERM and Investigations. Key duties include enhancing WVK’s ERM framework (aligning with strategy and partnership requirements), managing the Riskonnect system for risk automation and reporting, conducting/overseeing risk assessments, leading/conducting investigations into fraud, corruption, and safeguarding violations (ensuring high confidentiality and impartiality), and building staff/partner capacity in fraud risk management and ethical conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- ERM Leadership: Lead the enhancement and operationalization of WVK’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework; Oversee the development of risk appetite, scoring models, and reporting structures.
- Risk Management Systems: Manage the Riskonnect system (or other automation tools) for data-driven risk monitoring; Ensure departments maintain Risk registers and compliance risks are managed.
- Investigations Management: Receive and evaluate allegations of misconduct/fraud/safeguarding violations; Plan, lead, and conduct investigations (fraud, corruption, conflict of interest); Document findings in a clear, objective, and legally sound manner (Kenya Data Protection Act).
- Compliance & Governance: Drive the embedding of compliance using the Integrated Compliance Monitoring Tool; Maintain a central repository of policies, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Capacity Building: Facilitate training sessions for staff and partners on risk management principles and fraud prevention/whistleblower protection.
- Culture: Foster a culture of accountability, resilience, and integrity, while affirming Christian principles and ethics.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, investigations, audit, and forensics, with at least 3 years specifically in risk management.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business related, Economics, Law, or related fields.
- Certification: Completion of a Certification or higher in Risk Management, investigation training program, CPA, CIA, or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) is required.
- Skills: Strong analytical, investigative, research, and forensic skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ethics: High standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
