Regional Grant Finance Capacity Building Specialist — World Vision Kenya (Nairobi)

Job Description

Regional Grant Finance Capacity Building Specialist

Role Overview

This role turns complicated donor rules into practical tools that teams can actually use. You will design and deliver grant finance learning resources, support staff and partners through coaching, and reduce compliance risk by building grant management capability across contexts—including fragile settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content that simplifies complex public and private donor regulations into usable toolkits and learning resources (USG, Global Fund, UN, and other donors)
  • Maintain and manage team sites hosting created content and resources
  • Support prioritisation of content creation based on learner and grants community needs
  • Provide direct coaching and mentoring to World Vision grant staff and partner teams
  • Conduct needs assessments and define learning objectives with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Design, develop, revise, and structure training content for in-person, online, and hybrid delivery
  • Create storyboards, activities, and materials aligned to instructional design best practices
  • Rewrite and update materials to reflect current trends and required learning outcomes in grant acquisition, management, and compliance
  • Facilitate trainings virtually and in-person, ensuring strong learner experience and practical application
  • Participate in organisational activities that may be required (meetings, devotion, chapel services, staff retreat, Day of Prayer)
  • Engage in additional projects and duties as assigned within scope

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5–7 years’ experience managing public or private grants (international NGO environment preferred)
  • Experience training and coaching others on technical or complex topics, especially grant finance and acquisition/management
  • Experience supporting regional/national/field offices through capacity building, assessment, partnering, or strengthening
  • Strong ability to simplify complex information and build partner-oriented solutions
  • Ability to analyse, design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and projects
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time
  • Strong written and spoken English; Professional French preferred

Preferred
– Master’s degree or specialised certification in Grants Management and/or Training/Facilitation
– Experience with Global Fund and/or multilateral donors
– Knowledge of localization and local capacity strengthening in development contexts
– Experience with learning and media tools (Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Raptivity, Camtasia, Power BI, etc.)
– Strong cross-cultural competence and sensitivity
