Overview

Equity Afia is looking for a Pharmaceutical Technologist to manage pharmacy operations at the Kiserian Medical Centre. You will be responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications, providing drug information to patients, and ensuring the pharmacy maintains high standards of inventory management. This role requires a professional who combines technical pharmaceutical expertise with strong communication skills to enhance patient safety and treatment adherence.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing: Accurately dispense prescriptions to patients and provide clear instructions on dosage and administration.
• Patient Counseling: Counsel patients on drug interactions, potential side effects, and the importance of treatment compliance.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, track expiry dates, and ensure the proper storage of all pharmaceutical products.
• System Management: Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) to process prescriptions and manage pharmacy data.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the pharmacy operates in full compliance with Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) regulations.
• Collaboration: Liaise with clinical staff to clarify prescriptions and ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

• Academic: Degree in Pharmacy or a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
• Professional: Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and possess a valid practicing license.
• Experience: At least 3 years of post-internship working experience, preferably within a hospital environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and experience with Health Management Information Systems.
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
