Job Description
The Marina Safety Specialist / MWR Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe marina operations while supporting procurement activities for MWR programs. The role combines operational safety oversight with purchasing coordination to ensure compliance, efficiency, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee marina operations ensuring safe use of watercraft, docks, and equipment
- Conduct safety inspections and enforce safety and environmental regulations
- Provide safety briefings, training, and emergency response support
- Monitor operational risks including weather and water hazards
- Maintain safety logs, inspection records, and incident reports
- Process purchasing requests and prepare purchase orders
- Obtain vendor quotes and track procurement processes
- Maintain inventory and procurement documentation
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for timely delivery
- Support budget tracking and cost control
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in marina operations, safety, or procurement
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training in boating safety or procurement is an advantage
- Ability to obtain required credentials and meet medical requirements
- Valid passport with at least one-year validity
- Strong organizational and communication skills
