Role Overview
The Fundraising, Partnerships & Development Lead will own the entire revenue generation and external communication strategy. Key duties include meticulously managing the donor pipeline, leading complex grant proposal development, identifying and securing corporate partners for material/equipment support (aligned with CSR/ESG priorities), coordinating board-linked fundraising actions, and overseeing all external communication and social media strategy to maximize visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising & Donor Management: Build and manage a strong donor pipeline; lead proposal development, budgeting, grant management, and reporting in collaboration with Program/Finance teams.
- High-Value Acquisition: Proven ability to secure USD 100,000+ in grants, partnerships, or sponsorships; maintain donor systems, trackers, and prepare regular funding briefs.
- Corporate & Strategic Partnerships: Identify, secure, and manage corporate and material partners supporting training and enterprise operations; develop proposals aligned with CSR, ESG, and workforce inclusion priorities.
- Board & Cross-Functional Support: Coordinate partner meetings, stewardship steps, and support the CEO/Board on board-linked fundraising priorities, ensuring visibility of commitments.
- Events & Communication: Plan and execute development and partnership events (graduations, mentorship days); oversee the social media strategy, content, and external communications for organizational visibility.
- Systems & Strategy: Strengthen internal systems, dashboards, and lessons learned to guide strategic decisions; promote a partnership-focused culture across departments.
- Narrative Translation: Skilled in translating Buildher’s technical, social, and enterprise work (gender inclusion, green construction) into clear, persuasive narrative reports.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years’ experience in fundraising, partnerships, communications, or external relations in international development, social enterprise, or related sectors.
- Fundraising Record: Proven ability to secure USD 100,000+ in grants, partnerships, or sponsorships and manage complex portfolios.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Development, Public Policy, or related field (postgraduate training is a plus).
- Skills: Strong project management, coordination, and reliable follow-through; skilled in strategic communication and translating complex concepts into persuasive narratives.
- Technical: Proficient in CRM systems, Google Workspace, and digital reporting tools.
- Competencies: Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and managing external consultants; cross-cultural experience is highly desired.
