Emerge Egress Consulting is seeking Commercial & Conveyancing Advocates for offices in Nairobi & Nakuru. This critical legal job in Kenya requires Two (2) years Post admission experience in a busy law firm, an upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree, and a valid practicing certificate. The Advocates will provide legal opinions on property & real estate and commercial matters, oversee handling of client matters before the Lands Registry/National Lands Commission, carry out negotiation, drafting and review of commercial contracts, and ensure all due diligence and registration procedures are completed for property sales/leases.

Role Overview
The Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate manages the dual functions of commercial advisory and property transactions across multiple locations. Key duties involve offering legal advice to clients on purchasing & selling of property, conducting due diligence on conveyancing transactions, preparing/registering all property documents (sale agreements, leases), and actively engaging in the negotiation, drafting, and review of complex commercial contracts and security documents for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conveyancing Practice: Offer legal advice to clients on purchasing & selling of property; Conduct due diligence; prepare sale agreements, completion documents and ensure proper registration of documents.
- Commercial Law: Carrying out the negotiation, drafting and review of commercial contracts and legal documents.
- Land & Registry Liaison: Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya & National Lands Commission.
- Security Documents: Ability to prepare security documents for lenders.
- Client Engagement: Liaising with clients and key stakeholders (mortgage lenders, estate agents); Enhance the firm’s client base.
- Legal Advisory: Provide Legal opinion and advice on commercial and corporate transactions.

- Experience: Two (2) years Post admission experience in a busy law firm.
- Education: An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
- Professional Status: A valid practicing certificate is mandatory.
