Clinical Officer
Overview
Equity Afia is seeking a dedicated Clinical Officer to join its medical team at the Kiserian Medical Centre. This role is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in a busy health facility and is committed to delivering high-quality primary healthcare. You will be responsible for patient consultations, diagnosis, and the management of various health conditions, with a particular focus on the growing challenge of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) within the community.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct thorough clinical assessments, diagnose illnesses, and prescribe appropriate treatments for patients.
- NCD Management: Lead the management and follow-up of patients with non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
- Emergency Response: Provide immediate life-saving interventions using Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols when required.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform minor surgical procedures and other clinical tasks as per the scope of practice.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the nursing and laboratory teams to provide holistic patient management.
Qualifications
- Academic: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Professional: Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council and possess a valid practicing license.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital setting.
- Certifications: Must have valid certificates in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Knowledge: Specialized knowledge in the management of non-communicable diseases.
