Jacaranda Maternity is expanding its specialized care services and is seeking a Clinical Officer with expertise in Dermatology for a locum position in Nairobi. Reporting to the Doctor-in-Charge, this role is essential for delivering high-quality, specialized skin care to maternity clients and the general public. The strategic value of this position lies in providing specialized outpatient support that maintains Jacaranda’s reputation for superior clinical outcomes and excellent customer service during their current phase of geographic expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct specialized dermatological consultations and examinations for patients.
• Diagnose and manage common and complex skin conditions, particularly those affecting expectant and new mothers.
• Perform minor dermatological procedures and prescribe appropriate treatments in line with clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic medical records for all patient interactions.
• Provide health education to patients regarding skin care, hygiene, and preventative measures.
• Collaborate with the broader clinical team to ensure integrated and holistic patient management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Dermatology) or equivalent specialization.
• Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
• Previous experience working in a specialized dermatology unit or a busy outpatient setting.
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Valid professional indemnity cover is usually required for locum roles.
