Job Description

The Clerk of Works (Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing) is responsible for providing technical assessment and site supervision for large-scale construction and renovation projects (25,000+ sqm). This role ensures that all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) works comply with contract specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The incumbent acts as a bridge between contractors and UNON services, maintaining meticulous records of site activities, material inspections, and change orders to ensure the successful delivery of complex utility and building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assessments and inspections of all MEP works performed on-site.
  • Coordinate with UNON safety and fire services to ensure premises meet strict safety standards.
  • Oversee the receipt and inspection of building materials, equipment, and samples.
  • Maintain a site diary to record daily events, working hours, and any non-compliances.
  • Review and evaluate change-order proposals and monitor production time-schedules.
  • Archiving of technical designs, specifications, bills of quantities, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports summarizing the progress and status of ongoing works.
  • Assist in final completion evaluations and substantial final evaluations of systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or Bachelor’s with 4 years of experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience as an engineer on complex projects (25,000+ sqm).
  • Experience as a building supervisor or superintendent on large-scale projects is highly desirable.
  • Added Advantage: Certification in PRINCE II, PMP, or background in data analytics.
  • Proficiency in MS Project or similar project management software.
  • Experience in a United Nations or international organization setting is preferred.
