Job Description

The Voter Registration Clerk is the frontline official responsible for the direct registration of voters using biometric technology. This role involves verifying applicant eligibility, guiding citizens through the registration process, and accurately capturing biometric and biographical data using KIEMS/VIU tablets. The Clerk ensures a professional and inclusive service experience for all applicants, including vulnerable groups, while maintaining the safety of data and equipment throughout the daily registration cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate biometric registration kits (KIEMS/VIU tablets) to capture voter data accurately
• Verify the eligibility of applicants in accordance with Kenyan electoral laws and registration guidelines
• Guide applicants on the required documentation and procedures for successful registration
• Assist applicants in the accurate completion of physical and digital registration forms
• Report and transmit captured voter registration data daily to the designated Supervisor
• Ensure the safe custody of all registration materials, equipment, and sensitive citizen data
• Respond to general voter inquiries and support verification and inspection exercises
• Provide inclusive and courteous service to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 19 years and above
• Minimum academic qualification of a KCSE C- (minus) or its equivalent
• Demonstrated computer literacy and basic ICT skills are mandatory
• A Diploma in ICT, Statistics, Business Administration, or Education is a significant advantage
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professional confidentiality
• Must not have held political office or acted as a party agent in the last five years
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
