Job Description

The Voter Registration Assistant (VRA) is a supervisory role responsible for the operational success of voter registration at the ward level. This position provides critical oversight of Voter Registration Clerks and manages the security and logistics of high-value biometric equipment, including BVR kits and KIEMS tablets. The VRA ensures that registration targets are met through strategic planning and public mobilization, serving as the primary reporting link between the field activities and the constituency-level registration officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise Voter Registration Clerks within the assigned ward to ensure adherence to electoral protocols
• Assist in planning and executing the KIEMS kit movement schedule to optimize registration coverage
• Collate, verify, and submit daily and periodic voter registration data to the commission
• Ensure the physical security and proper maintenance of all registration materials and ICT equipment
• Prepare and submit detailed progress reports regarding registration numbers and field challenges
• Publicize registration activities within the community to ensure the ward achieves its registration targets
• Oversee the training and logistical support of field staff during the entire exercise

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a Kenyan citizen and a registered voter, at least 21 years of age
• Minimum of a Diploma in ICT or a related field from a recognized institution
• Must be a resident of the constituency or ward for which they are applying
• Strong communication skills in English, Kiswahili, and relevant local languages
• Demonstrated integrity, impartiality, and respect for social diversity
• Willingness to work long hours and under demanding field conditions
• Must not have held political office or acted as a party agent in the last five years
