Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) is seeking a dedicated Tutorial Fellow specializing in Public Health in Nairobi. This is the entry-level academic position for Master’s degree holders who are actively registered for a PhD. Role Overview
The Tutorial Fellow will work under the direct supervision of a senior academic officer, focusing on foundational teaching and academic mentorship. The role is designed for growth, providing the opportunity to conduct specialized research in Public Health while undertaking the initial duties of university teaching, student supervision, and academic administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Instruction: Undertake core teaching activities in the area of Public Health, research, and community outreach activities.
- Programme Development: Participate actively in the development and routine review of academic programmes and curricula.
- Student Supervision: Supervise undergraduate students in their research projects and academic assignments.
- Student Support: Provide essential guidance and professional counselling to students.
- Assessment: Administer examinations and conduct thorough student assessment at the undergraduate level.
- Research Engagement: Attend and actively participate in research conferences and academic seminars.
- General Duties: Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the University College administration.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Master’s degree in Public Health, Population Health, or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized University.
- Foundational Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Population Health from an accredited and recognized University.
- Registration: Must be actively Registered for Ph.D. in the area of specialty.
- Teaching Experience (Advantage): University teaching experience will be an added advantage.
- Professional Status: Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies and membership in a professional association will be an added advantage.
- Skills: Proficiency in computer applications.
