Braeburn Schools, a leading international education provider, is seeking a qualified Swimming Teacher to join its physical education and co-curricular team in Nairobi. This crucial international teaching job in Kenya requires a formal teaching qualification, such as a B.Ed or a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (PGCE/PGDE). The ideal candidate must possess proven experience delivering the British Curriculum and be officially Registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Role Overview

The Swimming Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering specialized swimming instruction to students across various age groups. Key duties involve ensuring the instruction aligns with the curriculum and safety standards, managing the students’ physical education progress, and maintaining all required professional registration standards set by the Kenyan government.


Key Responsibilities

  • Specialized Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instruction in Swimming in accordance with the British Curriculum.
  • Curriculum Adherence: Ensure all teaching and learning materials and methods strictly align with the requirements of the British Curriculum.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce strict water safety protocols during all lessons and activities.
  • Professional Compliance: Maintain mandatory Registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) status.
  • Student Assessment: Conduct continuous assessment and evaluation of student progress in swimming skills and safety knowledge.
  • School Contribution: Actively participate in the broader academic and co-curricular life of the school, particularly within the Physical Education department.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Teaching qualification of B.Ed or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)/ Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
  • Curriculum Experience: Proven Experience delivering the British Curriculum.
  • Registration: Mandatory Registered by Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
