Student Counsellor Assistant

Role Overview

The Student Counsellor Assistant will work closely with the University Counsellor to support students’ mental health and emotional well-being by providing professional counselling services aligned with institutional values and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling support to students facing social, emotional, and personal challenges
  • Assist in delivering individual and group counselling sessions
  • Apply counselling principles, techniques, and best practices to student developmental needs
  • Support interventions related to addiction and substance use issues
  • Maintain confidentiality, data protection, and ethical counselling standards
  • Utilize digital tools responsibly to support counselling services
  • Work collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Support implementation of the University Strategic Plan 2025–2030

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of addiction and substance use counselling
  • High moral and ethical standing aligned with Christian values
