Student Counsellor Assistant
Role Overview
The Student Counsellor Assistant will work closely with the University Counsellor to support students’ mental health and emotional well-being by providing professional counselling services aligned with institutional values and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide counselling support to students facing social, emotional, and personal challenges
- Assist in delivering individual and group counselling sessions
- Apply counselling principles, techniques, and best practices to student developmental needs
- Support interventions related to addiction and substance use issues
- Maintain confidentiality, data protection, and ethical counselling standards
- Utilize digital tools responsibly to support counselling services
- Work collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Support implementation of the University Strategic Plan 2025–2030
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of addiction and substance use counselling
- High moral and ethical standing aligned with Christian values
