Specialist, BI Developer
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a BI specialist passionate about using data to drive mission impact. As a Specialist, BI Developer, you will design, enhance, and support enterprise Business Intelligence solutions that empower Save the Children to make evidence-based decisions across programs, supply chain, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
BI Design, Delivery & Innovation
- Design and deliver end-to-end BI solutions in collaboration with global stakeholders
- Translate complex business requirements into robust technical BI specifications
- Develop proof-of-concepts to introduce innovative BI approaches and tools
Systems, Performance & Reliability
- Build, optimize, and maintain SQL Server-based BI environments
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, backups, and recovery planning
- Proactively identify and resolve technical risks within BI systems
Collaboration, Support & Documentation
- Work with testing, release, infrastructure, and architecture teams during change implementation
- Maintain and support existing BI solutions in line with IT service standards
- Produce accurate technical documentation for BI systems and processes
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, and dynamic queries
- Ability to translate non-technical requirements into technical BI solutions
- Experience with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), Power BI, Azure tools is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in global, multicultural environments
