The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Kenya is seeking a Senior Specialist, Workplace Investigations to join its team in Nairobi. This critical NGO governance job in Kenya requires at least 6 years of professional experience conducting various workplace investigations. Role Overview

The Senior Specialist, Workplace Investigations will handle investigations of varying complexity, potentially requiring international travel. Key responsibilities include analyzing collected information to reach timely, unbiased conclusions, generating professional investigation reports, and contributing to recommended corrective actions. The Specialist will also play a key role in developing and delivering training on investigation techniques and promoting an ethical workplace environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Investigations: Undertake comprehensive investigations into complaints of disciplinary, grievance, Fraud & Corruption, Respect in the Workplace, and Safeguarding issues, adhering strictly to WWF policy and best practice.
  • Analysis & Conclusion: Meticulously analyze all collected information, assess witness credibility effectively, and reach timely, unbiased findings and conclusions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Generate professional, exceptionally well-drafted investigation records, detailed plans, and formal reports.
  • Action Recommendation: Contribute expert input to recommended disciplinary or corrective actions arising from investigation findings.
  • Risk Management: Manage issues that are highly confidential and have the potential to raise significant financial, legal, or reputational risk to the organization.
  • Training & Culture: Assist in developing and delivering training programs focused on internal investigation techniques, interview best practice, and developing a positive “Speak Up” culture.
  • Sector Development: Keep abreast of developments in the investigations sector through networking and attending relevant seminars.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience conducting investigations (e.g., workplace, fraud, or compliance investigations).
  • Certification: Certification in Workplace Investigations is desired.
  • Language: Excellent written and spoken English (essential); fluency/competency in at least one additional language is desired.
  • Competencies: Proven ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive matters; strong analytical and critical thinking skills; valid passport (as international travel may be required).
