Senior Software Engineer, Google Play
Role Overview
The Senior Software Engineer, Google Play is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale software systems that power Google Play services. The role combines hands-on engineering, system design, and cross-team collaboration to deliver reliable and scalable products used by millions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain high-quality product or system development code
- Participate in and lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders
- Review code developed by other engineers to ensure best practices and efficiency
- Design and implement scalable software architectures and systems
- Debug, triage, and resolve complex system and product issues
- Contribute to documentation and educational content
- Collaborate across teams to deliver innovative platform solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in software development
- At least three (3) years’ experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
- Experience in software design and system architecture
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience in technical leadership roles is an advantage
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field is a plus
