Senior Research Administrator
Role Overview
KEMRI requires a Senior Research Administrator for the Centre for Public Health Research (CPHR) to manage the administrative lifecycle of assigned projects. This role is strictly focused on the production of financial reports, budget monitoring, and the coordination of project logistics. The position involves the direct oversight of project payroll, performance contract reporting, and the maintenance of a comprehensive program database. All duties must be performed in accordance with KEMRI guidelines and established research regulations to ensure accountability and successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor project-specific budgets, forecasts, and regular financial reports.
- Oversee the project payroll in coordination with the central Human Resources and Finance departments.
- Review project work plans for completeness and track performance against established milestones.
- Coordinate the logistics for meetings, seminars, and stakeholder dissemination forums.
- Manage the initiation, implementation, and administrative closure of research studies.
- Maintain organized documentation of all project records to facilitate accountability and future reference.
Qualifications
- Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Project Management, or Research Administration.
- CPA (K) qualification and active membership in ICPAK in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in project administration or finance.
- Completion of a supervisory course lasting at least two weeks from a recognized institution.
- Mandatory proficiency in computer applications and a certificate in Project Planning and Management.
