Senior Relationship Manager, Infrastructure, Oil, Energy, Transport & Manufacturing

Role Overview

This desk owns growth in a high-stakes corporate portfolio: win new mandates, expand existing relationships, and protect asset quality across Infrastructure, Oil, Energy, Transport, and Manufacturing. The job blends origination, relationship depth, credit discipline, and internal influence to deliver budgets and a strong client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sector business development initiatives aligned to the Bank’s strategy and growth plan
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, analysis, and targeted networking
  • Build and maintain a healthy transaction pipeline, converting opportunities into funded, profitable business
  • Drive uptake of sector products and services across new and existing corporate clients
  • Spot cross-sell opportunities and coordinate internal product units to deliver complete solutions
  • Manage day-to-day client engagement to strengthen partnerships and improve account utilisation
  • Champion customer requirements across internal functions to maintain high service standards
  • Ensure compliance with sector standards, Bank policies, and procedures
  • Partner with Regional and Branch teams and Support Functions to grow market share and reduce NPL exposure
  • Drive sustainable deposits and account activity in collaboration with Branch Managers
  • Grow transactional income through consistent servicing and product penetration
  • Provide management with market feedback on segmentation, product needs, credit risk signals, and client insights
  • Conduct preliminary credit reviews and recommend facilities in line with credit policy and sector compliance guidelines
  • Monitor performing and non-performing accounts and coordinate post-disbursement monitoring
  • Identify risks early and support mitigation actions with relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking, or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage
  • Relevant certification in business development or finance is an advantage
  • 5–6 years’ banking experience, with at least 4 years in relationship management within the listed sectors
  • Strong commercial judgement, research, analysis, and problem-solving capability
  • High integrity and ability to challenge decisions when required
  • Strong persuasion, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisation skills and good computer skills
