Job Description
The Senior Officer for Technical Partnerships (Economic Recovery & Development) leads strategic private-sector engagement and business development initiatives. This role bridges technical depth with fundraising clarity to enhance the IRC’s competitiveness in securing “big bet” funding and multi-million-dollar partnerships. The Officer provides high-level advisory to technical leads, shapes donor pathways for scalable projects, and operationalizes workflows between fundraising and program teams to ensure efficient portfolio management and donor stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies for Economic Recovery & Development (ERD) priorities
- Create compelling pitch materials and strategic positioning documents for private-sector donors
- Lead or support high-value proposal development processes, integrating technical expertise with donor interests
- Manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships, ensuring donor requirements and compliance standards are met
- Represent the IRC in technical forums and donor meetings as a subject matter expert in ERD
- Operationalize standard ways of working and workflows between technical units and fundraising teams
- Provide post-award project management support for large-scale, multi-year strategic grants
- Stay updated on global ERD technical trends and operating contexts to inform proactive donor messaging
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Work, or a related field
- 6–7 years of professional experience in programs, fundraising, or advocacy with a large INGO
- Proven track record of developing and implementing multi-million-dollar partnerships
- Expert knowledge of global ERD programming in low-resource settings
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and technical writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical strategies for lay/donor audiences
- Strong experience in proposal design and grants management processes
