Senior Manager, Credit Monitoring
Role Overview
This senior leadership role is designed for a seasoned credit risk professional who can anticipate risk, influence outcomes, and safeguard portfolio quality. The Senior Manager, Credit Monitoring provides strategic oversight across multiple portfolios and jurisdictions to ensure early risk detection and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Risk Oversight
- Lead proactive credit monitoring across SME, Corporate, and Retail portfolios
- Identify early warning signals and implement timely risk mitigation actions
- Manage early-stage arrears and reduce delinquency through structured interventions
Governance, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure alignment with CBK Prudential Guidelines, AML/CFT requirements, and IFRS 9
- Oversee watchlist reporting and escalation of high-risk exposures
- Coordinate with legal and recovery teams on restructuring and resolution
Group-Level Strategy
- Provide oversight of credit monitoring practices across subsidiaries
- Standardize credit risk policies, reporting, and escalation frameworks
- Track recovery performance and enhance credit monitoring tools and processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Master’s degree or professional certification (CFA, FRM, CPA, CRM) preferred
- 8–10 years’ experience in credit risk, with 3–5 years at senior leadership level
- Strong expertise in portfolio analysis, early warning systems, and risk analytics
- Data analytics skills (SQL, Python, Power BI) are an added advantage
