Senior African Education Consultant

Role Overview

This assignment is about shaping how African education systems are understood, documented, and discussed. You will take the lead on translating country-level realities into credible evidence that informs policy conversations across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead selection and development of African education case studies
• Conduct interviews with Ministries of Education and senior stakeholders
• Coordinate qualitative research across multiple African countries
• Work closely with the client to align outputs with regional priorities
• Co-author Africa-focused sections of the final synthesis report
• Develop briefs, learning materials, and other knowledge products
• Support dissemination and engagement with policy audiences
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of Africa-related outputs

Qualifications

• Background in education systems strengthening, policy reform, or applied research
• Deep familiarity with Sub-Saharan African education environments
• Existing working relationships with Ministries of Education in multiple countries
• Proven experience leading qualitative research and case study development
• Strong analytical writing and stakeholder engagement capability
