Sales Team Lead – FMCG
Role Overview
Targets don’t hit themselves, and this role exists to make sure they don’t slip. You will lead from the front—selling, coaching, correcting, and building a disciplined FMCG sales unit that delivers numbers consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive primary and secondary FMCG sales to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Translate business objectives into clear sales execution plans
- Track market movements, competitor activity, and customer feedback to guide strategy
- Set individual KPIs and hold team members accountable for results
- Conduct regular field visits to coach, audit routes, and correct execution gaps
- Enforce discipline around productivity, route planning, and reporting
- Deliver structured sales training covering selling skills, negotiation, and product knowledge
- Identify skill gaps and implement corrective development plans
- Lead recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and induction of sales staff
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance and incentive reports
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience leading FMCG sales teams
- Strong understanding of FMCG distribution and route-to-market execution
- Proven ability to train, coach, and performance-manage salespeople
- Strong negotiation, communication, and reporting skills
- Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical capability
