Sales Team Lead – FMCG

Role Overview

Targets don’t hit themselves, and this role exists to make sure they don’t slip. You will lead from the front—selling, coaching, correcting, and building a disciplined FMCG sales unit that delivers numbers consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive primary and secondary FMCG sales to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
  • Translate business objectives into clear sales execution plans
  • Track market movements, competitor activity, and customer feedback to guide strategy
  • Set individual KPIs and hold team members accountable for results
  • Conduct regular field visits to coach, audit routes, and correct execution gaps
  • Enforce discipline around productivity, route planning, and reporting
  • Deliver structured sales training covering selling skills, negotiation, and product knowledge
  • Identify skill gaps and implement corrective development plans
  • Lead recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and induction of sales staff
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance and incentive reports

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience leading FMCG sales teams
  • Strong understanding of FMCG distribution and route-to-market execution
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and performance-manage salespeople
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and reporting skills
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical capability
