Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor
Role Overview
This role provides operational and technical leadership for all repairs, maintenance, and infrastructure reliability across Wilderness hospitality properties. The Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor ensures that facilities, rooms, tents, utilities, and equipment operate at optimal standards while minimizing disruption to guests and daily operations. The role is both hands-on and supervisory, requiring strong planning, safety compliance, cost control, and people management skills. Success in this position directly impacts guest satisfaction, operational continuity, and long-term asset preservation in a high-demand hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all maintenance, repair, and installation activities
- Plan preventive and corrective maintenance schedules with minimal operational disruption
- Prepare daily progress reports, job cards, and maintenance logs
- Ensure rooms and tents are fully serviced before check-ins and after check-outs
- Respond promptly to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues
- Manage contractors and outsourced works in line with SLAs and safety standards
- Enforce OSH, ISO, and internal safety procedures for staff and contractors
- Monitor quality of materials and equipment supplied by vendors
- Establish root causes of recurring faults and implement long-term solutions
- Supervise staff performance, training, and capacity development
- Ensure compliance with legislative and county permit requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Trade Test Levels I, II, or III
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance operations with supervisory responsibility
- Hospitality or lodge environment experience is essential
