Job Description
The Registrar Academic Affairs is a senior administrative position responsible for the management and coordination of all academic processes within the university. This role involves overseeing student admissions, examinations, graduations, and the maintenance of academic records. The Registrar ensures that academic policies are implemented consistently and that the university maintains high standards of excellence in curriculum delivery. Appointment is on a 5-year renewable contract based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in the administration of student admissions, registration, and enrollment
- Oversee the planning and execution of university examinations and the processing of results
- Manage the graduation process and the issuance of academic transcripts and certificates
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the university’s central academic records
- Advise the University Senate on academic policy development and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate the development and review of academic curricula in collaboration with faculty heads
- Manage the staff and budget within the Academic Affairs registry
- Represent the university in academic forums and with regulatory bodies like the CUE
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field; a Doctorate degree (PhD) is a significant added advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience serving as a Deputy Registrar (Grade 14) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Information Communication Technology and its application in academic management
- Proven managerial skills and professional competence in a higher education setting
- Excellent communication and strategic leadership abilities

Candidates should provide three (3) referees knowledgeable about their competence and area of specialization, one of whom must be a recent/last employer. Referees are required to submit their confidential reports in sealed envelopes to the address below.
